Project Title:
Forest recovery and species convergence across environmental gradients in Sui River Forest Reserve, Ghana
Abstract:
This project investigates how tropical forests recover under different restoration strategies and environmental conditions in the Sui River Forest Reserve. By comparing assisted natural regeneration, native-species plantations and intact reference forests across moisture and topographic gradients, the study evaluates whether restored sites are recovering the species composition and structural complexity of mature forests. The research aims to clarify how restoration methods and environmental conditions influence long-term forest resilience and to inform Ghana’s national restoration programs.
