Abstract:
There is a scientific understanding of how the location and quantity of surface water sources drive LMH distribution, but how water quality affects LMH distribution remains uncertain. My research challenges this assumption by evaluating whether water quality constraints lead LMH species to prioritize specific water sources, even when faced with competing ecological pressures. Using a comprehensive camera-trapping network and direct water sampling, I will integrate biotic and abiotic factors into a structured statistical analysis, offering a fine-scale understanding of how water quality influences wildlife ecology.
