Abstract:
This research explores livelihoods, Traditional Ecological Knowledge and contemporary educational systems within China’s last nomadic society in Talinhua Gacha, Ar Horqin Banner, Inner Mongolia. The project examines the ecological and social challenges facing grasslands and nomadic communities under modernization, with a particular focus on younger herders and their educational pathways. The study aims to address a significant gap in scholarship on how modernization is reshaping nomadic life and knowledge systems.
