This study aims to further our understanding of the native species reforestation in the Visayas region by evaluating the growth and performance of species and assessing typhoon damage in 25 Rainforestation sites established between 1995 and 2000. My objective is to assess the conditions of the rainforestation plantations after typhoons Haiyan (2013) and Odette (2021). My specific questions relate to documenting:
1. Whether the plantations still exist or have been converted to other land uses; and
2. If they still exist, what kinds of vegetation is regrowing within the plantations? For this I intend to document a) the nature and composition of the surviving planted trees; and b) the composition and growth habit of the plant recruitment if present.
