Jack Markowitz

I will conduct interviews in various cities throughout Chile to understand perceptions of the recent constitutional convention and reasons for the proposed constitution's failure at the final stage of the convention process. I will also be conducting qualitative analysis of forms of media—including music, grafitti, and journalism—to understand their role in the perception of the constitution. I am paying special attention to media produced by the Mapuche, who are the largest indigenous group in Chile and were instrumental in propelling the constitutional movement and drafting the proposed constitution.
