Abstract:
Climate change poses a severe threat to rain-fed agricultural systems and regional food security in Zambia as temperature and precipitation patterns become increasingly variable. This research project aims to examine how climate change perceptions and understandings influence the adoption of climate resilient agricultural practices in subsistence farming communities across rainfall gradients in Zambia. Understanding how smallholder farmers perceive climate change as a risk, incorporate it into their decision-making processes, and influence adaptation strategies may better inform future climate change resiliency efforts and development approaches.
