There is a need for new ways to conserve wildlife species across human-dominated landscapes. My project aims to examine how domestic species, wild animals and humans use a human-dominated landscape. I incorporate ethnographies, interviews, camera trapping, and GPS units to overlay the human-wildlife-cattle interface of the Makgadikgadi System of Botswana. The research centers and expands upon the anthropological approach of practice theory to be applied to social-ecological systems. Methodological design is based on understanding the practices of people, of wildlife and of livestock and to map its resulting coexistence landscape.
