There is an urgent need for studies that examine environmental factors that influence air pollution levels in rapidly urbanizing areas, and the resulting health impacts in low socioeconomic status populations. This study will apply LUR modeling to urban areas of South India. 200 Palmes tubes and 15 Ogawa badges were deployed at 150 sampling sites throughout Mysore, Karnataka, India. Sites were selected using a combination of purposeful site allocation and simple random sampling methods. Samplers were retrieved from 130 of 150 sampling locations, for approximately 13% loss – comparable to other major studies deploying field samplers for air pollution exposure. Future sampling campaigns will aim to reduce losses by selecting sites that are less prone to removal.
