This project will primarily encompass the data collection and basic analysis portions of my senior thesis project in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology, and will build upon the same questions I have been working with for the last year and a half. The main goals for the summer include to quantify herbivory of seedlings in 600 1-square meter plots in a tropical forest, to survey functional trait data on the seedlings, and to assess the effects of traits such as leaf color, age, habitat, and extrafloral nectary presence on defense.
