Project Title:
How do Cabrucas Function? Tree Growth, Biomass, Herbivory an dFunctional Traits in the Cacao Agroforestry Systems of Bahía, Brazil
Abstract:

This study aims to evaluate different cabruca management strategies in Bahía, Brazil. I will study the population dynamics of the forest trees that comprise these systems, with the goal to increase our understand of the ecology and carbon storage potential of these sites. I will assess tree growth and recruitment and determine the biomass gain and carbon stocks of various management approaches. I aim to contribute insights on how these systems can enhance biodiversity and potentially contribute to developing biodiversity credits.
